Why Short Life housing?
- Empty spaces can become an eyesore. They’re prone to squatters and vandals, and quickly become a magnet for anti-social behaviour.
- An uninhabited and unheated space will rapidly deteriorate, and serious structural problems may develop.
- Empty housing units make neighbours feel uneasy, and uncertain as to their own future security.
If you have empty housing units awaiting refurbishment or otherwise empty buildings, St Marks Housing Co-op offers a practical, easy solution. It’s a solution we’ve been offering mainstream housing associations successfully since 1980.
We place our vetted, interviewed and carefully selected members in vacant properties ensuring their security and that you are alerted to any dereliction or required urgent repairs. We make good neighbours, and always leave promptly with one month's notice after an initial six month minimum stay.
